Art Director

At Feed Me Light we're always on the lookout for strong and passionate artists to join our ever growing team! This time around we're looking for a full time Art Director, someone able to navigate different mediums with ease, from stylised 2D to more realistic 3D, not forgetting Motion Design. You will work alongside our core team, including our Creative Directors and Producers, striving each day to push current projects and help pitch on incoming ones.

As an Art Director you would either be directly working on projects with our directors, or helping recruiting concept artists for different projects depending on the workload.

The distinct creative style of the founding creative team is known for its light hearted view, humour and fun. Fuelled by quality and high attention to detail the work we produce speaks for itself. And coffee – definitely fuelled by a lot of coffee. As a company we strive to be straight up, honest and all round good sorts. This is our mantra for all management and communication, with both clients and employees. We know this will create partnerships that allow for collaboration, joint vision and shared success.

Specific job details:

  • Fulltime and permanent position.

  • Fun, open and welcoming company culture. And dogs!

  • Team outings and fun days.

  • Company pension scheme.

  • Salary — negotiable dependent on experience

  • Monday to Friday, from 9am to 6pm. East London offices.

WHAT YOU DO (but not limited to)
  • Work alongside and guide the teams whether they are internal talents or freelancers, in and out of the studio.

  • Developing solid working relationships with our current roster of Directors to understand their style and being able to adapt to it.

  • Brief and feedback in a clear manner on what is submitted for reviews, in line with the Directors and Creative Director's expectations.

  • Ensure the work done by the studio meets the quality standard set by Feed Me Light or pushes it forward.

  • Help concept and drive pitches forward, ensuring we are answering the given briefs in the strongest way possible.

  • Work with producers to ensure the projects remain in scope and delivered on schedule.

  • Work hand in hand with the Creative Director in scouting and recruiting new talents.

  • Work as a concept artist on projects.

  • Help with our social media presence, whether doing artwork or developing communication strategies with our team.

  • You have a collaborative attitude, this is a must!

  • You have initiative and are proactive in your approach to daily life. Another must.

  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to work with a team.

  • Experience in Art Direction/Concept Art for short or long format commercial work.

  • Experience in Adobe CC software.

  • Knowledge of the 3D animation pipeline is a plus.

  • Great eye for visual storytelling, design in a variety of mediums.

  • You don’t take yourself too seriously, always up for a chat and a laugh.

If you want to take part in a cool adventure with a tight team in a very green studio (and are not allergic to dogs!), then we'd love to hear from you:
